Tunisia, An ICT leading destination

Information Technologies in Tunisia and specifically software industry services and multimedia are one of the major industry, and one of its main development strategy . The eleventh Five-Year Plan 2007 - 2011, provides an average growth of added value of 17.5% per year for this sector, achieving an investment volume of around 6300 MDT and creating 50 thousand new posts employment.

The Global Competitiveness report of Davos Forum (2007-2008), ranked Tunisia first in the Maghreb and Africa, 3rd in the Arab world and 32nd in the world, on a total of 131 countries. It is ranked first in Africa and the Arab world in business environment areas (25th in the world), innovation (26th globally) and higher education and training (the 30th in the world).

Tunisia seats on leading places on a global scale in certain sub-topics. It is ranked 4th in terms of success of the Government in ICTs promotion, 6th on the importance of ICT in government strategy, 12th on the speed with which companies are created in the sector and 14th in terms of quality of public education institutions.
